Hiromi is a California Board Licensed Acupuncturist as well as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine of National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She earned her Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in San Jose, California. Hiromi obtained Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Kanagawa, Japan. She worked as a molecular biologist in Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, Illinois, and is working at the NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California. She has conducted studies on microorganisms in extreme habitats and biofuel production from algae.

Hiromi was fascinated with Chinese medicine when a family member who was suffering from chronic fatigue was successfully treated with acupuncture and herbs. She then decided to devote herself to this medicine. Hiromi speaks Japanese and English and loves cooking healthy colorful lunches for her family every morning.
